Under Construction--keep checking back

On May 17, 1991 my son was born and it was a great joy for me and my wife.  We were very active in his life.  He was a great kid, a prankster and lived life to the fullest.  He lived life one day at a time and tried to do as much as he could every minute of every day.

Zech was interested in music at a young age.  He tried guitar, bass, cello, trumpet and drums.  But you could tell the drums were his favorite.  We would jam (play music) together, which brought a lot of joy to me.  Zech and I had our father and son things we would do together; fishing and motorcycle trips.

On June 24, 2007 I was awakened to the screams of my wife, Melinda, saying our son was dead.  Sunday morning turned into a nightmare, a broken heart, numbness and so much pain; my life had changed forever.  The spirit to go on wasn't there anymore.  We went to a The Compassionate Friends Regional Conference in Frankfort, KY.  I met Alan Pedersen who was singing songs about his daughter, Ashley that inspired me to start writing songs about Zech.  It has been my therapy and a blessing to help keep me going.  I thank you Alan.

I have played music for many years.  I even put albums together back in 1990 and 1992.  I have taken on this grief by writing a lot of songs and putting together two C.D.'s.  Friends have blessed me with their help and kindness.  My goal is to get these C.D.s out in 2009.  A lot of heart felt feelings have gone into this music.  It's a way for me to keep my son alive and probably me as well.  I hope these songs help and touch your heart as well.  I find the pain is a life long experience and I hope this music helps you through pain in your life.

Sincerely,

Mike
